On 2 and 3 October there was a large deportation of Jews from Zwolle. About 120 families were ordered to report at the Gymnasium Celeanum [a high school] on Veerallee. The gate of hell, it turns out. Earlier on 2 October it was announced that approximately 5,000 Jewish men, who were in work camps in the north and east of the country, were taken to Westerbork. The men from camp Conrad were gathered in Zwolle in the gym, where the Jews from Zwolle had also been assembled. From this school the families were put on transport to Westerbork.
