Various camps in the Black Forest

Kaufering concentration camp
4 april – 9 april 1945

Nico and I walked with our arms entwined in order to have four legs because we staggered.

Mühldorf and Kaufering were established as sub-camps of Dachau concentration camp. Prisoners often slept in poorly heated earthen shacks that were partially buried and covered with soil to camouflage them from the air. Illness, malnutrition, and the cruel conditions on the shop floor and in the camps took their toll and resulted in a high death rate.
