In November of 1942 the camp in Góra Świętej Anny (St. Anna’s Mountain) was converted to a Jewish Erholungslager, a convalescence camp where sick slave laborers were taken care of. In the following seven months 54 Jewish prisoners died. In June of 1943 the convalescence camp was moved to a forced labor camp in Prady (Brande). The camp was closed in August. The sick prisoners and those who were unable to work were transferred to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
